One Thing I Changed That Stopped My Bloating

I woke up one day, and my stomach was flat, and I felt great. Then I ate a piece of mango, and BOOM… instantly bloated.

Not only did I look bloated, but I felt icky too.

You know what I mean?

Just like heavy, and my lower stomach was hard and uncomfortable.

I was so frustrated I honestly felt like crying that day because here I was working out daily, lifting weights, doing cardio, eating super clean, drinking my water, taking my supplements, etc.

You know me if you have been watching me on Facebook and Instagram. I’m a wellness girlie for life and have been for YEARS. So, something wasn’t adding up.

Changes I Implemented

I texted my friend and natural doctor, Dr. Melissa Vandermissen, and she told me to try something, and I gotta admit, I did not want to at all.

It was a change that was easy to make but also easy NOT to make, but she thought it really could make a world of difference for me. Not overnight but over time.

That change was to have something to eat first thing in the morning BEFORE my morning coffee. UGH!

Why does the thing that can fix everything have to be something I really don’t wanna do LOL?

My Morning Routine

I am 39 years old, and I have come to realize that my hormones and body are changing, and I have to correct and adjust the things I am doing. These are some of the reasons why this could be making you bloated and I will share with you my new morning routine that has helped make this shift a lot easier for me…

  1. Coffee may stimulate the production of stomach acid. This increase in the production of harmful stomach acid severely disrupts the digestive system of the body, causing issues like indigestion, bloating, nausea, etc.
  2. First, it increases cortisol, which can negatively impact ovulation, weight, and hormonal balance. The so-called stress hormone—which, among other things, helps regulate energy and makes you feel alert naturally peaks around the time you wake up, and interestingly, coffee stimulates cortisol production.
  3. Our blood sugar control is impaired when the first thing our bodies come into contact with is coffee

I interviewed Dr. Melissa on my podcast, and she goes into so much more detail on this topic.

HOW I CHANGED MY ROUTINE

I will share a list of my links for supplements below!

I am a creature of habit, and my routines make such an impact on my daily life. So, I knew for me I needed to create a NEW morning routine. (I broke down my morning routine on an episode on episode 20 of the podcast as well, but in a nutshell here is what I started to do.

  • Instead of having a coffee first thing, I started out with a pregame to my coffee and morning routine, lol.
  • I had a morning cocktail first thing. That consisted of 8oz of water, 1 scoop of power greens, and Pique Electrolytes. I down that, and this helps me become majorly hydrated. Power greens help balance your pH levels in the body and help with acid reflux, etc. Plus, you are starting your day out with greens.
  • Then, I would make my morning water, which is my favorite big Stanley cup, with lemon juice and trace minerals. I take that big water to my vanity, and as I am doing my skincare routine and ice rolling. I drink as much as I can while I am listening to my morning podcast and doing skincare.
  • After that, I either have half of my superfood shake with half of a banana, OR I have 2 hard-boiled eggs with half of a banana or blueberries. I am not a breakfast person because prior to all of this, I was fasting, so this was all brand new to me, lol.
  • After that is when I finally make my morning coffee and start my actual morning routine with my morning reading and my Hyper Focus Journal (which consists of reviewing my long-term and short-term goals, my affirmations, rewriting my top 3 hyper focus goals, my gratitude, crafting my hyper focus to-do list, and my brain dump to-do list.

The Results From My Routine Change

All of those small little changes I made… DUDE…. what a difference in my skin, bloating, and overall energy!

Just by adding those other things in and not having coffee first thing in the morning really changed so much for me. That’s why I really wanted to share this info with you.

So this is what helped me with my bloated so maybe give it a shot. I actually just recently quit caffeine for 90 days as a challenge for myself (alcohol, too), and I replaced coffee with Teccinno. I love it so much, and it helps make me feel amazing.

Anyway, I hope this was helpful! If it was, feel free to follow the Podcast , Obsessed or not Interested, because I share lots of things like this on there. I also share all of the things over on my Instagram @MindyWender!
